Tex Barry's has been an Attleboro tradition for generations, serving its signature Coney dogs with the same recipe that's been part of the Tex Barry's name since 1968. While dozens of Tex Barry's locations once dotted southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the Attleboro diner has become one of the last places where that original Coney Island tradition lives on. It's the famous meat sauce—made from the closely guarded original recipe—that has kept generations of locals coming back, whether they grew up just down the street or now drive in from towns away for a taste of home.
The diner itself is as much a piece of history as the food. Housed inside a late-1920s Worcester Diner, Tex Barry's moved into its current County Street home in the early 1980s after its original downtown location was demolished. Step inside and you'll find the same narrow counter, chrome trim, and well-worn stools that have welcomed customers for decades. It's the kind of place where regulars don't need a menu, newcomers are treated like old friends, and every Coney dog is served with a side of Attleboro history.
